The Mutek Barcelona festival celebrates the start of a new decade from March 4 to 7, and does so 'focusing on the interconnectivity of the platform as an incubator and opportunity generator', working for 'the empowerment of the local and international artistic community and to continue its founding mandate to make visible, encourage and accompany the development of artistic talent'. Grand plans indeed.
One of the big nights on the Nocturne programme will be at Astin/Nitsa, with British DJ Jane Fitz, who's been in the business for more than 30 years, and who is a resident at London's Pickle Factory as well as at the legendary Freerotation festival, and captain of the Night Moves party that she puts on along with Jade Seatle. On the bill with Fitz is Canadian (resident in Germany) Deadbeat, presenting for the first time in Spain his project LNOE, 'Last Night on Earth', which came out in February on the label of prestigious British DJ and producer Sasha.
