La Ciutat dels Somriures

This Christmas season, Plaça Catalunya turns into La Ciutat dels Somriures (The City of Smiles), full of activities, workshops and fun things to do.

A giant four-metre-tall puppet called Senyor Hivern (Mr Winter) is the star of the celebrations as well as the main show that's on at certain times throughout each day. Senyor Hivern wakes up and crosses the square until he gets to the main stage and starts thes how with his Gran Llibre de les Coses Petites (Big Book of Little Things).

In addition to that show, you'll find other activities, such as La Llibreria (Bookshop), where you can enjoy reading, music, and popular songs; El Teatre, with Christmas-themed puppet shows; La Botiga de Joguines (Toy Shop), a space for children to experiment with sound; La Botiga d'Esports (Sport Shop), where you can play a bit of basketball, indoor football and more; and El Ritme al Carrer (The Rhythm of the Street), bringing urban culture artists and activities together.
