Gasoline Dance Machine Hogmanay Hoedown with Monte – Cabaret Voltaire, Blair Street
Featuring an ‘80s funk set from Monte, the Hamburg producer and envoy of the Jeudi label, and his labelmates and GDM residents Cheap Picasso and Kipp$.
Kapital with Microtrauma and Nick Dow – La Belle Angele, off Cowgate
Cologne’s long-standing minimal techno label Traum pitches up in Edinburgh for a showcase night featuring label mainstays Microtrauma and Nick Dow.
Nightvision presents Hogmanay – Liquid Room, Victoria Street
All autumn and now into winter we’ve been going on about Musika and Xplicit’s essential collaboration changing Edinburgh’s club landscape for the better, and now on the biggest night of the year the first phase comes to a close. With big guests in Birmingham’s Subb-An and up and coming producers Waze & Odyssey, as well as locals Craig Smith (6th Borough Project) and Theo Kottis (Moda Black).
Sneaky Pete’s All-Stars – Sneaky Pete’s, Cowgate
As the title suggests, expect a mix ‘n’ match of some of the best residents from the most musically forward-thinking venue in town. Hosts this year will be the Witness team, so bass and garage will be mandatory.
Soulsville: Midnight in Rio – Bongo Club, Cowgate
Visuals, art and carnival sounds as Soulsville creator Francis Dosoo aim to bring a celebratory Brazilian vibe to the traditional Scottish Hogmanay party.
Speaker Bite Me Hogmanay Party – Electric Circus, Market Street
Indie and pop music courtesy of co-promoters EVOL and the Electric Circus at this residents night from the EVOL DJs, mixing up some classic tracks with all the best music 2014 had to offer.
Wee Dub Hogmanay / FourByFour & Pulse – Studio 24, Calton Road
Downstairs it’s a dub soundsystem session featuring Mungo’s HiFi (pictured), Prince Fatty & Horseman, Dreadsquad and more, while upstairs two of the better techno nights in the city combine forces for a residents’ special.
Hogmanay Shelter NYE Warehouse Party – Shelter Warehouse, Cowgate
With only a Halloween bash under its belt, this fly-by-night club outfit still has a lot to prove, but with a stellar New Year's Eve line-up that includes local house maestro Fudge Fingaz, Main Ingredient, Hi & Saberhagen, Telfort and many more.
