What the Body Does Not Remember
Wim Vandekeybus’ first piece of choreography is an astonishing 28 years old now and as thrilling and jaw-dropping as it was back then.
What you see will make you forget to breathe as dancers throw heavy looking blocks into the air, seemingly at random, at each other, towards the audience, timed to such perfection that there is always someone there to catch at the last minute.
As the pace gets faster and faster, dancers run frantically to keep up and you start worrying for their safety!
That's just one piece in the programme which is also witty, charming and inspiring, but as physical theatre goes, it really doesn't get any better than this.
