FAC presents an evening of surf cinema to coincide with the opening of Frontier Surfing, a new exhibition which explores the history of big wave surfing in WA.

The evening opens with Bella Vita (2013), a spirited travelogue which follows surfer and artist Chris Del Moro on a pilgrimage back to Italy, his ancestral homeland. Directed by acclaimed surf filmmaker Jason Baffa and described as a visual epic, this is an intimate and powerful journey of self-discovery steeped in culture, tradition and passion.

This is followed by The Salt Trail (2013) by award winning filmmaker Mark Walters. Journeying through Indonesia from the crowded points of Bali to the isolation of the Mentawai islands, this film captures the joys and the pains of surf travel, and the rewards that will stay with you long after the journey is over. Showcasing some of the deepest, sweetest tube rides, The Salt Trail will have you packing your bags for your own Indian Ocean voyage of discovery.

Bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy this family-friendly film night in the beautiful surrounds of FAC’s Front Garden.
