Following their phenomenally successful work The Great Unreal, a road trip through the USA, Swiss duo Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs headed east in 2013 and travelled to Mongolia, via Hungary, Rumania, Moldavia, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kirgizstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia.
Considering that their work is based on illusion, with carefully crafted images that tease realism, they found in these regions of transition the perfect backdrop for their disquieting and often comic images.
