Possibly the most unmissable building in town and its most established dance club, the Spongebob-yellow, mural-wrapped MAD nightclub in the trendy Flon neighbourhood hosts a gay night every Sunday. Until recently MAD was home to the weekly Trixx night from LGBT überpromoter Alex Herkommer, who has now left to focus on taking his party brand Jungle (www.gay-party.com/jungle) nationwide and Arosa Gay Ski Week (www.arosa-gayskiweek.com), the excellent wintersports/party hybrid event he has run every January for ten years. But now MAD presents Gameboy, a house music night that draws a crowd across a range of ages with DJs from all over Europe and sometimes beyond. Promotion team Adriano and Ludo are now in charge, and during the summer months they reprise Herkommer’s legendary Mousse nights with occasional SuperGameboy events where they whip up a good old-fashioned foam party.
