Once a style radical, this interior design shop in Carouge is now a Swiss institution.
Helping to kick-start the Carouge creative-village scene when it opened 20 years ago, Teo Jakob has moved seamlessly from style radical to Swiss institution. Clip clop down the statement steel staircase to be greeted by life-size plastic horse lamps from Swedish Front, before wandering through a Japanese bedroom into a Scandinavian dining space. Interior design fans will be in their element listening to staff name-check cutting edge brands and watching tech entrepreneurs update their work spaces with sofas from Anderssen & Voll, while even lesser mortals may recognise a timeless Eames wire chair or a gleaming Jean Nouvel glass table. Warning – a quick visit may lead to a long-term home redesign.
