Formula 1 has officially announced the 2027 FIA Formula One World Championship calendar, confirming that TOSFED Istanbul Park will host the FORMULA 1 TURKISH GRAND PRIX from October 1 to 3, 2027.

The weekend will kick off with practice and qualifying sessions on October 1 and 2, before the five red lights go out once again at TOSFED Istanbul Park on Sunday, October 3, marking Formula 1’s long-awaited return to Turkey.
Six years after its last visit, the excitement of Formula 1 will once again bring the world’s top drivers and thousands of racing fans to Istanbul, one of the world’s most spectacular cities and a unique meeting point between Europe and Asia. The TURKISH GRAND PRIX will be held for the 10th time at TOSFED Istanbul Park, one of the most technically demanding circuits on the Formula 1 calendar.
Drivers will take on the approximately 5.3-kilometre TOSFED Istanbul Park circuit, a challenging track characterised by significant elevation changes, demanding both car and driver performance while offering plenty of overtaking opportunities.
One of the circuit’s most famous features is Turn 8, the multi-apex corner that has helped make TOSFED Istanbul Park internationally renowned. A major challenge for drivers, it is also expected to be one of the most exciting sections for Formula 1 fans.
With its combination of speed, rhythm and technical difficulty, the circuit is set to provide the setting for close racing and dramatic moments throughout the weekend.
Formula 1’s return will once again put Istanbul in the spotlight as host city for one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events. The race is expected to contribute to sports tourism, the city’s economy, international media exposure and Turkey’s global brand visibility.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy described the announcement of the 2027 calendar as an important milestone in preparations for the FORMULA 1 TURKISH GRAND PRIX 2027.
“With the Formula 1 race calendar now announced, we are stepping up a gear with our preparations. In the period ahead, we will bring Istanbul’s history, culture, gastronomy and lifestyle together with Formula 1’s global reach through a series of major projects.
“Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we are taking important steps to further strengthen Turkey’s position as a host of major international sporting events. Our aim is to revitalise sports tourism and contribute to Istanbul’s economy through a successful FORMULA 1 TURKISH GRAND PRIX 2027.”
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Osman Aşkın Bak highlighted Turkey’s growing position as a destination for major international sporting events.
“Turkey is no longer simply a country that hosts international sporting events; it has become a destination for some of the world’s biggest sporting organisations and competitions. The FORMULA 1 TURKISH GRAND PRIX 2027 will be one of the strongest examples of this.
“With our strong sporting infrastructure and extensive experience in hosting major events, developed under the leadership of our President, I believe we will deliver a Formula 1 experience in Istanbul that reflects the scale of the occasion. Turkey is ready, and we are looking forward to this major event.”
Eren Üçlertoprağı, President of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED), said preparations for the race are continuing at full speed.
“Until race weekend, we will modernise TOSFED Istanbul Park in line with the highest standards of Formula 1, while aiming to provide all spectators with a unique racing experience. We are already inviting racing fans from Turkey and international visitors to share in the excitement of the TURKISH GRAND PRIX.”
With the race date now confirmed, international promotional efforts for the FORMULA 1 TURKISH GRAND PRIX 2027 are also entering a new phase.
The “Catch It If You Can” promotional film, produced by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has surpassed 300 million views worldwide.
In the coming period, Istanbul’s global visibility will be further strengthened through international media projects, digital campaigns, collaborations with international content creators and a global promotional push centred on the city.
The FORMULA 1 TURKISH GRAND PRIX 2027 has returned to the Formula 1 calendar following years of efforts and initiatives by TOSFED, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Formula 1 races will be held at TOSFED Istanbul Park under the organisation of TOSFED from 2027 through 2031.
