Slangkop Lighthouse

Slangkop Lighthouse review 1 Users say 4/5 Rate it

This shimmering ivory tower isn't only the tallest cast-iron lighthouse in the country, it also boasts one of the brightest lights, with a range of 33 nautical miles (around 61km). It first lit up in 1919, and is still operational today. Guided tours are available during the week and include a meander up the steep staircase, as well as intriguing information on the history of lighthouses, including the reason why South Africa is one of the few countries left to employ lighthouse keepers.
