Celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2012, Open House London is an annual event that gives Londoners and visitors the opportunity to view, free of charge, an array of buildings of architectural interest which are not normally open to the public. As well as the government buildings, private homes, historic houses, schools, town halls and other buildings open for tours, there are also site visits to ongoing construction projects. Children's activities are a feature at some venues. Admission to the majority of properties taking part in Open House London is on a turn-up-on-the-day basis. But for the properties that must be booked in advance, bookings open in early August and the hot tickets are usually snapped up in minutes. The aim of the weekend is to engender an enthusiasm for architecture among the general public and promote civic pride amongst the capital's residential and business community.
Including exclusive offers and tickets, the best events, news, competitions and giveaways.
