  • A group of us visited El Camion on Saturday night. Having read mixed reviews I was unsure of what to expect. We were extremely disappointed, and I would strongly recommend trying somewhere else. The main problem was the service, they forgot to cook two of our mains, and instead of being apologetic that two of us would be eating after the other six, and gave no explanation. When we asked whether we could have a complementary drink to make up for us eating separately we were met with a very rude response and then ignored by the waitress for the rest of the evening whilst not very subtly making rude remarks . When our food eventually did arrive it was bland, tasteless and stodgy. Really disappointing. I have given the one star for the Margarita which was good, but otherwise I would avoid. Don't go here if you want good authentic Mexican food, with friendly service!

  • I had a great night here last Saturday, the staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate our party of 7 at short notice. I shared beef nachos which were delicious and are a generous portion, for main I had the grilled chicken burrito which was yummy and I recommend having it 'wet' I rounded the meal off with pecan pie for desert. I was impressed by their range of cocktails and enjoyed a coconut bastidas, which was similar to a pina colada. The décor was interesting and the array of hot sauces from around the world were fun to try with dinner! All in all I think this is a lovely spot for Mexican food and very reasonable in price!

  • I have been here a few times now, for a private party, midweek late-night, and Friday night with a friend. Never been disappointed by the superb cocktails and always been made welcome by the thoroughly charming staff. The booths are great, but the best seats are at the bar.

  • I went to the basement bar many times, but last time a prick at the door wouldn't let us in with the excuse that it's for "members" only. thank you very much!

  • Far too expensive for what you get. Essentially a fast food restaurant for top dollar. I ordered the platter for sharing it cost £25 and was worth £10 max as this was starter size. The margaritas were £8 this was expensive for what you got especially in a small plastic cup. Don't go here!

  • I went here on halloween and had a really good night. I'm a bit of a cheap skate so I thought it would be too pricey for me. At first I stuck to the tequila (around £3.50 cheapest) which was actually really nice and good fun with friends and in the end had a cocktail which was moderately priced (£8.50) compared to some london bars and It was awesome. All the staff were really friendly and dressed up. Even managed to have a dance later in the evening. Definitely want to go back.

  • I have to say this was a big disappointment. Getting in was a trauma, then we were told we couldn't just use the bar we had to order food as well, which was only so so. From the review on here it sounds like an easy going happy place but it was surprisingly stiff and dull.

  • bland bland bland! I was really excited about my trip to El Camion but i was left underwhelmed. The service was good and they meals came in a reasonable time frame but the quality of the dish was just terrible, as my mother is mexican I know what the homeland food should taste like and this was not it unfortunately but I will not give up on my quest to find a genuine Mexican restaurant in London

  • TERRIBLE. Avoid this place. I invited 20 friends to celebrate in the downstairs bar after talking to the staff there a week before and being told they don't make reservations on Fridays and I should just arrived early. I arrived at 7 and was told by the manager it's fully booked. After having a discussion with him, he agreed to let us stay in the top floor. But after 10, some of my friends were not let inside anymore by the same rude lady NRYP mentioned, saying the place it over capacity (it wasn't. they haven't really checked). To top it all, I ordered a bottle of their home tequila because I thought it would be cheaper than buying shots for everyone. Only after my order I found out ordering the same amount (700cc) of tequila with individual shots of the same brand, would cost me 20 Pounds less. I will never return there, and I recommend to avoid it.
