Venue says: "It's LAB o'clock! Enjoy 2-4-1 on all our cocktails every day from 5pm-7:30pm! Buy one cocktail, get the same one free!"

LAB was created in 1999, which makes it a granddaddy in London’s cool bar scene. But it shows no signs of decline: the quality is consistent visit after visit. They’ve always had a very long cocktail list, 90-plus, and some drinks get a bit clever for their own good. But mostly they are grounded in LAB’s core principle: understanding and perfecting cocktail fundamentals. The Soho Lady, one of their own creations, is a tall sour based on gin, with Aperol and fresh raspberries, served over crushed ice with a top of fizzy wine. Classic. Standard drinks are always perfect, and the bartenders love talking to customers who need help figuring out what to order. Noise levels are high, but no higher than in comparable places. You can book tables downstairs, and it’s sensible to do so. Prices remain very low for the quality and the area. Great drinks, low prices, unfailing consistency – what more can you ask for?

LAB says
Founded in 1996 in the heart of London's Soho district, LAB was created to be a training school for bartenders keen to develop their skills - the London Academy of Bartenders.

LAB has kept this ethos throughout the ages and has trained personnel for many of London's best known bars; as well as showcasing amazing cocktail artists in our own venue. The culmination of this academic institution came in 1999, when the training school was transformed into LAB Bar. 2014 has seen a fresh new face applied to LAB, still pushing the boundaries - and setting the bar - of creating great cocktails served with skill, a cheeky wink, and, if you're nice, maybe a shot.

Over its 15 year history, LAB has created and hosted some of London's most creative bartenders. This has resulted in LAB compiling one of the biggest and most unique cocktail menus in the UK, a menu which is consistently being developed. These cocktail menus have become collectors' items worldwide, and have been spotted as far as Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.

LAB has continued to challenge the world of drink creation, and, to any true spirit aficionado, the menu reads like a winning lottery ticket: premium spirits complemented with fresh juices, fruits, herbs, and spices.

Music plays a key role at LAB, we host DJ set through the week - always pushing the boundaries of music, with anything from deep vocal house through to techno, funk and old school hip hop and R&B.

To those who are about to drink, we salute you!

I came here the other week with a colleague; had a brilliant time. The cocktail menu is huge - there's so much to choose from. We ended up getting a few rounds, so we could experiment with the drinks we had. The bar is really cool and the staff are very friendly and helpful with recommendations

Great place! The drinks are dreamy and the atmosphere is fun and delightful (meaning a few lookers around). The space is quite small so I wouldn't go with a large crowd but for a night out with about, at a max, 4 friends this is a great spot. Also a good pre-drinks location to really get the night started on a high!
