Blimey! This former railway pub has had quite a refit. From our vantage point on a sofa at the back, we spotted four different types of chandelier, blue fairy lights, Shaker-style panelling and exposed brickwork. And, if the pub looks like it's trying too hard, you should see the dressy, too-cool-for-school regulars. Still, there's a lot to like amid the noise (aural and visual), not least the most interesting selection of beers and spirits in the area including Budvar Dark, Paulaner and guest ales such as Pedigree served in dimply retro pint mugs.

Had been before, got a Sunday roast which was nice.
Saw they were doing 2 meals with a drink for £15 and went and tried it. Awful. Worse than a JD Wetherspoon Beer and Burger and twice the price.
Cold yet overcooked, meagre portions, uninspiring. The beer was good though.
Had a burger and chips there last Friday. Chips were warm and burger was bloody even though requested well done. Friend's chicken pie was like a pork pie with some indistinguishable slop in the middle. Also greens were missing from the order. Will not eat there again especially as there are better pubs serving food in Herne Hill. Very disappointing as the menu looks really tasty. Start of meal was ruined by being sat near the toilets and it seemed that basically everyone who got off the train came in to use it! Not pleasant at all.
