Remember Pergola Paddington? It was the al fresco summer hotspot in the middle of Paddington Basin from the peeps behind White City’s Pergola on the Roof. Very vibey it was too: a giant two-floor complex where – crucially – you could wolf down Decatur’s superlative Deep South street food and Patty & Bun burgers (and more!) in the open air to a homogenous house music soundtrack. Bliss!
Praise be, then, that it’s coming back for winter. Both floors of the space – which caters for a whopping 850 diners – will be fully covered, windproofed and heated. The rejigged food offering sees a smattering of Time Out-approved traders: city-wide burger maestros Patty & Bun; Mexican comfort food joint DF/Mexico; excellent Peckham-based pizza types Made of Dough; and ramen chain Tonkotsu. People, it’s time to get the goose fattened for Christmas (if the goose is, er, you).
