Meat fanatics, get excited. Street food favourite Smokestak is setting up shop in Shoreditch to open its first permanent restaurant. Founded by David Carter, Smokestak has been a regular on the street food scene since 2013, but the new menu promises a 'grown-up' version of all the meaty dishes you've come to know and love. Expect some new dishes - smoked girolles and beef dripping toast, crispy beef shin and anchovy mayo’ and coal-roasted sweet potato with smoked ricotta and bacon - as well as some old favourites, including their melt-in-the-mouth USDA brisket bun with pickled red chilli and pork ribs with pickled cucumber.

Plus, they'll have sides of smoked cauliflower cheese and burnt end beans, as well as pickled blackberry crumble and toasted oak ice cream with butterscotch and smoked sea salt for dessert. Basically, there's nothing on the menu that won't be grilled, smoked or put near an open flame at some point. Even the salad features grilled baby gem lettuce.

Unfortunately for our grumbling stomachs, the new restaurant won't open until early November, but you can bet there'll be a queue of hungry carnivores outside it when it does.

Smokestak will be at 11 Sclater St, Shoreditch, E1 6HZ.
