Nights out on Good Friday

Blow Up

Critics' choice

It's been going for over twenty years, but this club night is still a hugely popular event. At the start of 2015, Blow Up found a new home at Soho basement venue St Moritz Club, where it now holds a weekly Friday residency. Luckily, there's still the same mix of DJs, including head honcho Paul Tunkin, spinning British pop, punk, boogaloo, new wave, Motown, mod anthems and soul from the '60s to the noughties, plus guest live performances from bands such as Big Boss Man and Slug. Super-groovy stuff.

Nights out on Easter Saturday

Buttoned Down Disco

Critics' choice

Overdose on hip indie-dance tunes spun by resident DJ Christian Laing and guests. As well as electro and indie-pop mash-up madness, you'll also hear a smattering of cheese and student party anthems. Full-throttle fun.

Club De Fromage

Critics' choice

London's self-proclaimed biggest – and silliest – pop and fancy dress night supplies its fun-loving punters with oodles of Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga, Elton John and Katy Perry-style goodness (to name a few), plus a few more credible tunes from the likes of Blur, The Killers and other indie-leaning bands. There are silly themes each week and lest we forget the meat pie-giveaway and air guitar hero award. Remember, anyone in fancy dress gets to jump the queue.

Old School Indie

Critics' choice

Get your Adidas Gazelles cleaned up, put that old Pulp T-shirt in the wash and sort your floppy fringe by Saturday because it's time to throw yourself around to some classic indie anthems. Brought to you by the team behind the long-running Feeling Gloomy nights, expect top-tier floorshakers all night from everyone including Blur, The Beatles, Bowie and Blondie as well as a healthily-cheesy dose of oldies like Stevie Wonder and Elvis on top of giveaways, drinks offers, balloons and all-round silliness. Wear your favourite indie band t-shirt to jump the queue!

The Rhythm Parlour

Critics' choice

Get your beard trimmed while you soak up some disco bliss at monthly pop-up musical barber shop The Rhythm Parlour, set in Rye Wax Records in Peckham's Bussey Building. Turn up, put your name on the list for a haircut or beard/tache trim, sift through Rye Wax's ace selection of records, grab a cocktail, munch some Vietnamese street food and listen to resident DJs spin disco, house and funk while you wait for Ryan MacGregor to trim your fuzz in the barber's chair. The funkiest follicle-trimming in London.
