I went to the main Hurwundeki salon (30 mins). Had high hopes of this place.showed the owner a photo of the korean celebrity whose hairstyle I wanted. He said something like it could be done, proceeded to just trim my hair and tousle it a bit. Looked nothing like what I wanted. I actually stayed in the chair for another 3 or 4 minutes expecting him to style it but he moved on to the next customer. I felt like such an idiot and was in shock that I couldn't complain.paid £24 for nothing special. I do NOT recommend HURWUNDEKI

Started off well with dumplings, but the lukewarm bibimbap and pre cooked pork belly just made me cross. Poor food.

The worst haircut ever and terrible customer service!!! It is literally a joke! He chopped my hair in less than 5 minutes and that's all. I feel stupid that I've paid now. Will never go back there and don't recommend it to anybody!

Virtually the most hideous and most over priced haircut possible. Got my fringe trimmed for £10 while they charged men's haircut for £9. Is that because I'm a woman?! I'd be happier to cut the hair myself than ever returning this this rip off place. I recommend you do the same if you don't want to end up with a haircut looking like a loony puddle.

Had the WORST haircut and colour ever. I went to the salon across from the cafe.

I asked for a trim, she took 3 inches off and cut my fringe far too short. I asked for a full head of highlights and to just replicate the colour i already had. She put full bleach highlights through my hair (i had just grown out the previous bleach)and so close together it looked like a block of colour. Left the salon and didn't feel i could say anything.Rewashed my hair when i got home- still hated it, so thought I should call them. The hairdresser was so rude to me. Explained I went in for a trim and colour touch up and came out with a totally different, unwanted and awful hair style. She didnt think there was anything wrong with it! Ended up having to go and get my hair recoloured at a different salon and also recut as it had been cut unevenly all over. Absolutely avoid.

AVOID - the worst haircut I have ever had. Went to the "30 min" Salon across from the restaurant. I understand it's pretty common to not be totally happy with how your hair turns out but the girl who cut my hair was very sloppy. I ended up with blunt hair all different lengths like a child had cut it. Left in tears and had to go somewhere else afterwards and paid again to get it evened out. Would not recommend to anyone. Awful experience.

AVOID! I arrived at 7pm which is a full hour before they closed and took a seat. At 7:30 they told me that I couldn't be seen as they were closing at 8pm and couldn't fit anyone else in. When I explained that I had been here for half an hour he accused me of lying about how long I was waiting and pulled out a board of names that no-one had asked me to sign. Wow! No apology just total unpleasantness. What an awful experience. There are loads of other great places to get your haircut in the area never go here.

I had my hair cut here today and I asked the hairdresser - a young scissor happy Korean boy who doesn't speak a lot of English - for a TRIM and to cut off 3/4 of an inch. He cut off 3 inches. I cried profusely. Seems like they do boys hairdos well but stay away if you're a girl, they'll just hack at you without even bothering to try make it look nice. I called up to complain and the owner was not at all bothered. I wanted to go back to get him to sort it out but I don't want him near my hair ever again. I now have short hair. I don't suit short hair. I'm very very upset. Life. Ruined.

I have now been to this restaurant twice and I would say it is well worth a visit. It’s got deer heads on the wall, a creepy playground outside, you can get your hair done and drink your own cheap wine, the service is great, it’s cheap but does not feel it. The food the first time was a tad on the greasy side, however still delicious. The 2nd time I could not fault it. I would highly recommend the Mandu - like Veg Guyoza and the Beef Bibimbap! This place is perfect for a date, meet up with your friends or pop in for a quick and easy bite to eat.

popped in here after leaving another nearby restaurant with terrible service. This place is great, cheap yet lovely korean food, great service, bring your own booze, what's not to love? Only reason for 4 stars is they do not have any desserts so had to settle for ginger tea (which was lovely but not quite a dessert). I'm going to try and persuade them to add a couple of simple desserts to their menu next time I'm next there.

where else but East London can you grab some super-tasty korean food, then a bish-bash-bosh trendy haircut, follwed up with a latte, all for under £30, under 1 roof. each element is good enough to stand on their own,but all combined makes a pretty interesting yet complimentary combo

I used to regularly drop by Hurwundik for coffees or sit sit and work as it has an exceptional cafe, recently half of the space has been turned into a Korean restaurant. Everything about it was great. The atmosphere is casual and relaxing, not too loud but very active, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was incredible. Also very fast, there was a great selection of dishes and a side/main/starter was only £10. All and all a great place, perfect for catching up with friends.
