Harvey Nichols runs these dining options in the Oxo Tower, and is making a fine job of it. Service is bright and welcoming, and food is inventive and refined, with subtle flavour combinations beautifully executed.
The seasonal menus in the buzzy brasserie (at one end of the top floor) have a global outlook, so might include Moroccan merguez sausages with red-pepper muhammara sauce, as well as Loch Duart salmon with gnocchi, pea mousse and goat's cheese, and a full vegetarian menu.
The quieter and more spacious restaurant at the other end stays closer to a Mod Euro style, so could feature pork cheeks with fennel choucroute, or truly memorable scallops with an oxtail spring roll and pea vinaigrette. Between the brasserie and restaurant is a very sleek bar.
Prices at both dining venues are lofty, especially for wines, but the set menus (lunch in the restaurant, lunch and early dinner in the brasserie) represent good value for this quality of cooking. Oh, and a highlight of a meal at both venues is the fabulous Thames view.
Sorry, booking is not available at the moment.

The service was really good and the food was scrumptious. I was very impressed with the service...until I realised (when I got home!) that I had been overcharged by £15.
Embarrassingly, I rang up and mentioned the error. I received an apology and a promise that the matter would be sorted with urgency. It has been over a week since I rang - and I have called again since but to no avail. No-one seems to acknowledge the owed money, I receive an apology from new people that seem to answer, but I have no refunded money. I'm left with a sour taste in my mouth
We went to the Oxo Tower restaurant for the first time last night and had a fantastic time.
The service was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were so attentive and unpretentious.
The ambiance was great and the views of London and the embankment were amazing
Although the menu could have been a little more extensive, the food we chose was sublime, as were the cocktails and certainly did not disappoint. Definitely worth a visit.
Long waiting for nothing... Slow service and overcocked food. Amazing how a kitchen can miss-treat commdities as fish, meat and vegetables in such a way. Good wine-list and view over River Thames, but oherwise a terrible and expensive experience.
That place is amazing! Perfect for a Valentine's Day dinner :)
But before you go there send a Forever Friends e-card to your lover, that will set here/him in a great mood! Enjoy this day!
the food here is amazing. the dessert really outdid the main meal. there were three of us.
ordered salmon with soba noodles
pork with winter fruit chutney
and lamb with harissa.
the rum chocolate fondant is a must !
the only thing to complain about is that the staff is a little inattentive.
The Oxo Tower's view is unique in London. I've had the opportunity to experience gourmet food in New York, Paris, Tokyo and London. I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a restaurant in my 32 years of eating out. My boyfriend and I paid 100pounds per person for a meal where the mashed potato SIDE was the tastiest dish on the table! I had duck that was supposed to be crispy on the outside, and instead you needed a saw to cut through. Also the sorbet of fresh cream DOES not go well with the hot fois gras.... The chef at OXO does not know what he's doing. Is he distracted by the view of the Southbank from the kitchen?
What a pity this iconic restaurant is failing so badly to live up to the reputation it had a few years ago. If it weren't for the view from a few of the riverside seats why would you bother to eat in what has become an over priced canteen. Having booked and invited out of town friends to this out of the way eaterie you are commited and in the hands of Hamish Thompson. Even though the school like tables and chairs are only half full you can find your party of five squeezed on to a pair of 600mm square table simply pushed together.
The standard fare during the festive season is a limited fixed menu so that even if you only take one or two of the three courses offered you pay for what you don't order. Does everyone eat three courses during lunch! Pre-made puddings maybe what the traditional London tourist expects but at these prices.
So beware, two bottles of wine, one bottle of water, two pear and cheese starters, plus three turkey and two lamb main courses add on the service charge total cost £275. Speak to Hamish and he will do you a deal, make that £255 then.
When the tourist stop coming to London they'll be F*****.
We dined at the OXO tower last Friday evening as two couples. Firstly I would like to say the food was excellent and so was the wine (although our choice was expensive). However the service was appalling. On three occasions during he evening, one of us had something spilt on us.
The last spillage occurred when a waiter clearing the table knocked a glass of port over and most of its contents went onto my friend's designer handbag. The waiter didn't notice what he had done and when it was pointed out to him he simply shrugged and said he was 'clearing the table'. There was no apology for his actions.
As a result of the poor service we requested 25% off the bill, which was met with an offer of a free glass of wine each, which we refused. Eventually we did obtain the reduction from the meal, but only after being made to wait over 1/2 hour.
After the disappointing attitude of those serving us, we will not be dining at this restaurant again I'm afraid.
i would like to make a reservation at your restaurant. i would like to know if it would be possible going this week at night. i dont care the day. waiting to hear from you soon...
cheers...
