Stepping through Princess Garden's large glass doors, you are transported at once from Mayfair to Hong Kong. The restaurant is stylishly decorated in muted tones, with Chinese art and elegant antiques adding visual interest. An international clientele increases the cosmopolitan feel.
Dim sum is served at lunchtime, with a limited assortment available as starters in the evening. On the full menu, familiar classics such as crispy seaweed, lemon chicken and stir-fried beef are listed alongside northern dishes, Cantonese classics and modern inventions.
Peking duck is a popular choice, as is beggar's chicken (with advance notice): a whole chicken roasted in a clay shell. Luxury ingredients figure prominently too: abalone, lobster, sea bass, dover sole and veal. We liked the drunken chicken, a cold appetiser steeped in fragrant Shaoxing wine.
To follow, veal stir-fried in a honey barbecue sauce was flavourful and tender, while prawns and scallops with asparagus stir-fried in XO sauce seemed surprisingly bland despite the strong seasoning.
The highlight was steamed sole in egg whites; cooked to perfection, the delicate fish blended seamlessly with the silky, savoury custard. Complementing the smart menu is a thoughtful, mostly French wine list. Polite, attentive service adds to the calm atmosphere.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Booking advisable, Separate rooms for parties ( seating 6-50 ), Takeaway serviceThis is the worse chinese restaurant i really had a high expectation and the dim sum they can refried the spring roll which look burn and serve it along with two fresh ones...omg I really dont understand why would anyone go back. The worse i tried in London. I tired most of the chinese restaurant in London and this one really let me down. Hope they will improve in every way.
Bad acoustic makes that you end up screaming in order to get heard by your guests. The food was not as brilliant as nearby Royal China Club or Yauatcha, and yet the prices are in the same range.
A previous review I read before my visit suggested this restaurant was pretentious but I was keen on a visit regardless.
Aesthetically this restaurant is nice, with a comfortable waiting area and sitting arrangements.
Nicely located centrally makes this restaurant more appealing I might add but besides that I would call the service provided short of the appropriate standard.
Staff weren't as patient and never seem to provide the correct of number of menu's or brawn cracker asked for (I was hungry...). There was always some urgency to provide assistance some where else rather than the current table.
The most important of all.. cost of ambience, location and food = Price!
Reasonable price per head which an averaging working man would not have many complaints too. I can not really fault the location as it offers multiple channels to access other streams of entertainment after a meal and the food was enjoyable.
In summary if you want a good location and a reasonably priced meal, princess garden is ok with that but do not expect anything else.
There just wasn't anything that said come back again.
