Fashion for Relief Fashion Show

Last seen bringing some serious attitude to Channel 4’s Gogglebox, the formidable Naomi Campbell returns to the catwalk in aid of her charity, Fashion For Relief. The Streatham-born supermodel and her beautiful pals will be walking the runway in pieces donated by the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy and Vivienne Westwood. All proceeds go to the Ebola Crisis Appeal and Ebola Survival Fund.

International Fashion Showcase

130 designers, 30 countries, 4 continents: the fourth International Fashion Showcase promises a glimpse of some of the world’s most exciting design talent. A collaboration between the British Council and the British Fashion Council, it’s also the only BFC initiative that’s open to the public over fashion week. With static exhibitions arranged by country, highlights include an exploration of traditional Nigerian costumes, a Polish ‘night out’ and a re-interpretation of traditional Colombian techniques. There’ll also be a public programme of talks and events throughout fashion month; details TBA.

The next generation of fashion talent will be out in force at MA15, a boundary-pushing showcase of clothes, accessories, film and photography from London College of Fashion’s graduate cohort. Dubious of fashion student clichés? Don’t be. LCF’s MA courses boast an impressive roster of alumni, so work by this lot could be hanging in your wardrobe before the decade’s out.

BFC and River Island Fashion Film Screening

It’s a year of firsts for Fashion Film. Typically an invite-only affair, this year’s screening opens its doors to the style-conscious public. Alongside short films from Gareth Pugh and House of Holland, River Island will present its latest Design Forum collaboration with Jean Pierre Braganza. What’s new? With the help of your phone, a headset and Google’s new Cardboard app, the film will be transformed into a 360 degree virtual reality experience. We’re intrigued. The Braid Bar Pop-Up Salon

For catwalk worthy hair in just fifteen minutes, head to Sketch. During London Fashion Week, the Mayfair eatery will become a beauty pit stop, playing host to a pop-up salon from the Braid Bar. Guests can choose from a menu of 12 different styles, which offers everything from halo braids to fishtail plaits. Prices start from £15, and include Sketch’s express breakfast.

Dana Thomas: Gods and Kings

To coincide with the last night of fashion week, Dana Thomas introduces her new book, Gods and Kings: The Rise and Fall of Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. Fashion journalist Thomas will discuss how both designers changed the face of fashion and empowered women through their work, from the back streets of Soho to the rarefied glamour of Paris fashion houses. 'Invitation Strictly Personal' Book Signing

Fashion show invites are often as intricately crafted as the catwalk collection itself. For his latest book, ‘Invitation Strictly Personal,’ fashion writer Iain R Webb has delved into his enviable archive of invites, show notes and lookbooks, offering an insight into the rarefied world of the front row. Webb will be signing copies at Jigsaw’s Duke Street Emporium, where he has also curated an in-store art installation, featuring applique and embroidery inspired by his fashion week notebooks.

Don't Stop Now: Fashion Photography Next

Conceptual and often controversial, there’s far more to fashion photography than pretty people posing in fancy clothes. Fashion Photography Next is a celebration of innovation in image-making, compiled by writer and curator Magdalene Keaney. The arresting selection of snaps includes work by Jacob Sutton, Laetitia Hotte and Alice Hawkins. The exhibition is divided into two parts; the first running from Thu Jan 15 until Sat Feb 28, the second from Fri Mar 6 until Sat Apr 18.
