Much of Western culture was pretty confused about Buddhism until relatively recently, presenting it as austere and monolithic. We now know that religious practitioners in Burma and Thailand cover a combination of spirit worship, divination, numerology and homage to the Buddha, and have done for many years. This exhibition of models, banners, posters, glass paintings and stamped cloths gives a view of how religion is expressed in Southeast Asia, and the ways in which beliefs feed into everyday lives.
