Cool it ain't (there's little more naff in London than the VIP rooms here), but home to a killer soundsystem Ministry most certainly is. Located in a former bus depot, Ministry of Sound was once the epitome of warehouse cool and is still possibly the UK's best-known clubbing venue. These days the crowd is more chav than hipster but every self-respecting club junkie should subject themselves to at least one trip to Ministry. Laid out across four bars, five rooms and three dancefloors there's lots to explore. Long-running trance night The Gallery has made its home at Ministry of Sound on Fridays (expect large sets from Paul Oakenfold and Sander van Doorn), while the Saturday Sessions chop and change between deep techno, fidget house, electro and much more. If you can't take the thumping pace in the main arena then why not retire to the aptly named Baby Box, where lesser known DJs sharpen their skills and glitter balls create the illusion of glamour.
