Royal Continental review Rate it
Built in the 1950s by modernist architect Giò Ponti, the Royal Continental may not grab everyone at first. However, it's functional and extremely comfortable, and staff are particularly helpful. It's favoured by business people, who probably don't have the time to appreciate its wonderful seafront location overlooking the Castel dell'Ovo. There's a delightful 1950s swimming pool on the roof, and a variety of smart room styles to choose from; the first floor rooms are perfectly restored time capsules of Giò Ponti's upbeat style.
