This tiny osteria takes its name from the quirky collection of tiles (mattonelle) that decorate the walls. The antipasti are very moreish, as is the spaghetti with calamaretti (baby squid). Excellent soups incluude lenticchie e broccoli (lentils and broccoli), ceci (chick peas) and fagioli (beans). Good vino locale is served in ceramic jugs from Vietri on the Amalfi Coast. It's not easy to get to - come from Via Monte di Dio or take the lift (ascensore) on Via Chiaia.
