How do you girls usually spend your weekends?
E I go to Chinese class on Saturdays for three hours. We learn how to write. In Chinese, the words go down instead of across.

Wow! Can you speak the language too?
E Yep, we speak Mandarin Chinese.
J I speak a little Japanese!
E She only counts to ten in Japanese!

Have you ever been to China?

E We go to Taiwan, because our family is there. I like to hang out with them.
J We went to Hong Kong and Hawaii too. I really want to go to Coney Island!
E When I grow up, I would like to work in an airline because when I work my way up to be a boss I can give free tickets to my parents!
J Ooh, I could be your boss!
E No, thank you.

Are you looking forward to the winter?
E I only like the snow part. People say they want winter, but when it comes they say they want summer.
J I like when we go to Rocking Horse Ranch.
E It’s this place where you go tubing and skiing…I think it’s in North America.

Do you like to play outside in the snow?
E We try to build snowmen but it never works. The snow is too fluffy! But there’s a grassy place where our dad pulls us in a sled.
J I found an icicle there! I tried to save it but it turned into water.
