St. Patrick's Open Day

Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day! Show your love for Ireland's national holiday by stopping by the Irish Arts Center's annual extravaganza. Kiddos can get a lesson in speaking Gaelic from onsite instructors and learn how to play the tin whistle, a classic Celtic woodwind instrument. Little explorers can even follow the immigration patterns of the Irish via a giant bead maze and get schooled on Ireland's diaspora as they go. Get creative at a fairy costume station, bust a move to the sounds of DJ Puca and get in on some Gaelic football fun with the Manhattan Gaels, a New York–based sports club keeping Ireland's ancient games alive. Cap off the day with a cup o' Barry's tea, an Irish favorite for kids and parents. Ages 3 and up.
