"Building Brainstorm" at the Brooklyn Children's Museum

Inspired by the aesthetic of midcentury designers Charles and Ray Eames, this new show at the Brooklyn Children's Museum is less of an exhibition and more of a hands-on design studio filled with models, building elements, photos and architectural plans for kids to play with. Interactive “workbenches” and “job sites” encourage young visitors to explore the process of building and the nature of architecture by coming up with solutions to common engineering and architectural challenges. Click through our slide show (above) and video (below) of children busy at work on opening day, and make plans to stop by the Crown Heights museum yourselves.

RECOMMENDED: Download our October calendar.

"Building Brainstorm"
will be on view at the Brooklyn Children's Museum through the fall (the exact closing date has not yet been announced).
