Family Day: Diwali Lights Up Asia Society

Celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, with a vibrant lineup of dance performances, traditional music, and crafts for all. Bollywood Axion will teach attendees how to groove along to Bhangra and Bollywood beats (1:15pm) and Raga Kids will show little ones about Indian musical instruments through interactive folk songs (2:15pm). The Srijan Dance Center will show that stories aren’t just shared in written form and through facial expressions and hand gestures will share the stories and myths behind traditional harvest dances (3:15pm). Channel your inner artist during ongoing craft sessions where you’ll make jewelry, clay lamps, henna tattoos, and patterned floor decorations with colored sand, beans, and rice. All ages.
