Faculty members at the Beam Center, where this camp is held, hail from all over the creative spectrum—they’re artists, engineers, musicians, filmmakers, designers and storytellers—but tech-savviness is their common denominator. Under their watch, campers create by exploring a single concept, theme or raw material using different media, such as woodworking, moviemaking, digital media and handcrafting. Last year’s campers studied color, balance, interactive art and stop-motion animation, and got their hands dirty making terrariums and photo-cell theremins, among other wacky scientific creations. Ages 7–11.
