OddFellows Ice Cream Co. is expanding to the East Village this May

One of our favorite ice cream shops is expanding from Williamsburg to the East Village within the next two weeks!

Our love of Oddfellows Ice Cream Co., which debuted in Wiliamsburg last summer, has been well-documented—not only did we include them in our roundup of the best ice cream shops for kids in New York City, but we also profiled husband-and-wife co-owners Mohan and Holiday Kumar (along with their adorable twins) and named them "best ice cream mash-up" in our annual "New York's Best for Families" issue

So of course, we're thrilled upon hearing the news that the family-owned company will expand from their Williamsburg flagship to a new outpost at 75 E. 4th St between Second Ave and Bowery. And according to Bedford + Bowery, it'll be open just in time for warm weather on either Friday, May 9 or the week after on Friday, May 16.

While the East Village location won't tout all of OddFellows' wonderfully wacky offerings, adventurous kids can choose from eight flavors, such as Chorizo Caramel Swirl, Tobacco Leaf Smoked Chili Huckleberry, Buttermilk Biscuit, Beet Pistachio Honey Goat Cheese, Coffee & Coffee Soil, Miso Butterscotch Cherry and Sesame Kumquat Pumpernickel, all created by pastry chef legend Sam Mason, formerly of wd~50

Between the OddFellows expansion and the new, massive Ample Hills parlor in Gowanus, it's shaping up to be quite the summer for ice cream lovers!

Oddfellows Ice Cream Co. is located at 175 Kent Ave between North 3rd and North 4th Sts, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (347-599-0556, oddfellowsnyc.com).
