Village Halloween Parade returns to the city! (slide show)

Hurricane Sandy put the kibosh on the annual Village Halloween Parade last year, but the procession made a triumphant return in 2013.

Village Halloween Parade 2013

City families braved the crowds (and the rain!) at the annual Village Halloween Parade, which was canceled in 2012 after Hurricane Sandy hit New York City. We spotted tons of awesome costumes—some of our favorites included NYC-inspired looks like the Statue of Liberty and a family dressed as an MTA bus and a MetroCard.

RECOMMENDED: See how kids celebrated Halloween in NYC 2013

Click through our slide show to see all of the night's action. We guarantee you'll also be amazed by the awe-inspiring puppets created by Superior Concept Monsters, the Madagascar Institute, the Puppeteers’ Cooperative and Basil Twist’s studio.
