The Enterprise Shuttle

If you happened to be looking out on the Hudson River on Wednesday, June 6, you may have been lucky enough to spy the space shuttle Enterprise making its journey from Jersey City to Manhattan aboard a barge. The second of NASA's four space shuttles, the Enterprise was finally unloaded at its new home at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, where the new Space Shuttle Pavilion exhibit will open to the public on July 19. As it sailed up the river, the shuttle passed the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building—and the Time Out offices, where our staff was excited to catch a glimpse of the barge from the window. We also snapped a few pictures of the historic event; view our gallery to tide you over until the Intrepid exhibit opens and you and your space-loving tots can see the real thing.
