From the 1950s to the 1970s, photographers Harry Shunk (1924–2006) and János Kender (1937–2009) teamed up to document cutting-edge art movements from French Nouveau Réalisme to Conceptualism. Their efforts often became collaborations, as in their iconic photo of Yves Klein’s Leap into the Void, in which the artist can be seen launching himself from the top of a wall along a Parisian street, with nothing to catch him but the sidewalk below.
