Some 35 years ago, this French painter was one of the first artists to participate in the studio program at MoMA PS1 (then known simply as PS1). It was the last time his refined brand of shaped-canvas minimalism was seen in New York until now. The exhibit affords an opportunity to catch up on what he's been doing in the interim.
