The show surveys the work of Ed Paschke (1939–2004), a Chicago painter affiliated with that city's "Imagist" school. Images indeed figure prominently within his unique style, which combined elements of Pop Art, Surrealism and Photorealism. They're all rendered in a palette that exists somewhere between neon and the infrared, resulting in an effect that is both vaguely nightmarish and indelible.
