This veteran L.A. artist, born in 1942, started out as an experimental filmmaker, before switching in the 1990s to monochrome abstractions that explored the relationships between color and architectural space (usually created as site-specific installations). His latest works are based on a booklet, published by a company that built prefabricated houses in the 1930s, suggesting various interior color schemes to prospective owners. Making it all rather personal is the fact that the manufacturer in question was the artist's father.
