Ametsuchi was great. It was the first photography collection I've ever seen in person, so take what you will from my review, but I found it all to be rather moving. Kawauchi took something I've only ever associated with panic, destruction, and fear and turned it into a peaceful, calm, accepting experience. The correlation between fire and college is clear now. I think I'm one of those people who just wants to see the world burn. What has art done to me?

The subjects of this Japanese artist's latest color photos include distant constellations, and as well as a traditional Japanese-farmer practice of the controlled burning of fields.
