1. Query a stranger at Ask Roulette
Jody Avirgan, a podcast producer at FiveThirtyEight, hosts this live series in which audience members are invited to ask any question they want, but only if they themselves answer a stranger's question first. Want to connect with some of the 8 million New Yorkers around you? Here's your chance. What will you ask? (Housing Works Bookstore, 126 Crosby St, 7pm. $8)

2. Let your inner Miley fan shine
At Party in the USA: A Red, White, and Miley Musical, comedian Jo Firestone, along with Aaron Jackson of Upright Citizens Brigade and performer Josh Sharp, create a clever show with a useless plot, tied together with just Miley Cyrus hits. Yes, it's a Miley Cyrus musical, and yes, you can dance and sing along. (The Cobra Club, 6 Wyckoff Ave, Brooklyn, 9pm. $8)

3. Get down to Talib Kweli
Socially conscious MC Talib Kweli has made a name for himself as a solo artist of true integrity. The Brooklyn-based rapper performs with a full band for his second night at Brooklyn Bowl, in support of his latest LP, Gravitas. (Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Ave, 8pm. $20)
