In recent years, it’s been a blast to see next-generation interpreters performing works by the late visionary composer of conceptual opera. But we still need to hear from Ashley’s long-standing collaborators, too. Here, baritone Thomas Buckner sings pieces that the composer tailored for his voice, including arias from the opera Atalanta (Acts of God)—one never before performed in New York. Joseph Kubera, the S.E.M. Ensemble and other top Ashley musicians will also appear.
