Rob Schwimmer is a great musician with a quirky sense of humor you can't exactly put your fingers on, kind of like a theremin. I hope he performs on the Barge again soon!

A long weekend of heady music at the barge starts tonight, when stylish, exacting violinist Miranda Cuckson teams up with sure-handed pianist Steven Beck for a mix of Bartók, Sessions, Babbitt, Brian Ferneyhough and Andrew Rudin. Beck's back on Fri 11 with fellow pianists Stephen Gosling and Eric Huebner, spanning a range from Chopin and Debussy to Roger Reynolds and David Rakowski. Violinist Mark Peskanov and guitarist Luigi Attademo play Paganini on Sat 12, and on Sun 13, Arnaud Sussman and Orion Weiss perform violin sonatas by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Grieg.
