Composer Lainie Fefferman premieres her "rock oratorio" based on nine excerpts from the Hebrew Bible. Written for the considerable talents of the Newspeak ensemble and the soprano group Va Vocals, the work is a meditation on Lot and Abraham (among others) that employs postminimalist percussion, booming power chords and more intimate, folky textures.
