Philip Glass oversees a benefit concert to raise funds for the Garrison Institute, a Putnam County think tank that blends philosophical and scientific pursuits to address social and environmental issues. In addition to the New York premiere of Glass's Songs of Milarepa, the evening includes an exquisite sounding collaboration between Glass and Gambian griot Foday Musa Suso, plus performances by Pomerium, Riyaaz Qawwali, Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Wu Man with the Scorchio Quartet.
