After kicking off his run of Tchaikovsky and Bartok one-acts at the Met on Jan 26, multitasking maestro Valery Gergiev comes to Carnegie with his home team for two imposing programs. On Jan 27, he'll conduct the orchestra in Prokofiev's spitfire Piano Concerto No. 3 and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 4. On Jan 28, the players present Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5.
