Levi Gonzalez

Gonzalez, who hasn't presented an evening-length work since 2007's Clusterfuck, begins his new piece The Craft of the Father by accessing the interior—the guts, nerves, bones and fluids—of the physical body to contrast its primal desires with the difficulty of making ephemeral artwork in a city that values wealth and commodity. Created in collaboration with composer Tatyana Tenenbaum, the production incorporates sound generated through the body and then manipulated through amplification and playback.
