Q:
Where can I toast a sailor during Fleet Week?—Abby Berman, Harlem
A:
Our boys (and girls) in the Navy aren’t so different from civilian tourists—they flock to Times Square to get their kicks when they descend on the city for Fleet Week (through Wed 30). Maritime-themed Rum House (228 W 47th St between Broadway and Eighth Ave, 212-869-3005) welcomes sailors into the port with drink specials (a buck off drafts and $6.75 well drinks) for guzzlers in uniform. Former serviceman David Sheeran offers seafarers a dollar-off deal on any drink at his midtown pub, Dave’s Tavern (574 Ninth Ave between 41st and 42nd Sts, 212-244-4408), while at Bull Moose Saloon (354 W 44th St between Eighth and Ninth Aves, 212-956-5625), his bar and restaurant, service folk eat for half price.
