Register at Beckett's Bar & Grill, 81 Pearl St between Broad St and Hanover Sq (212-269-1001). To drink or not to drink—is it even a question? Boozing and barding come together in this Shakespeare-inspired pub crawl. Four FiDi pubs—Beckett’s Bar & Grill, Ulysses, Killarney Rose and the Dubliner—serve as ad hoc settings for scenes plucked from the Bard’s world-famous plays (e.g., Romeo and Juliet’s balcony scene performed on a bar top). Plainclothes actors will mill about the pubs’ common folk as they spit verses from Twelfth Night, The Comedy of Errors and Hamlet, with this year’s theme being, simply, drinking. Drain your own drafts of Rhenish down with four drink tickets, redeemable at any of the pubs. Lucky for you, the only poisoning you’ll suffer is a hangover.
