Afro-Punk Fest

The fact that last year's Afro-Punk Fest was canceled because of Hurricane Irene (Tropical Storm Irene doesn't sound so good, does it?) almost seemed to make this year's edition all the more glorious. There was the bill, for starters: Janelle Monae, TV on the Radio, Das Racist, Erykah Badu…and then the fashion (how did every single attendee manage to look so great?). Even the weather showed its sunny side this weekend at Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene. Our personal highlight, besides the bands, was watching David Byrne, resplendent in white slacks and matching T-shirt, grinning and having his photo taken with cheery fans in the crowd. Check out the full slideshow by TONY snapper wagz2it and pick your faves.
