Festival of New Trumpet Music

The illustrious progressive-brass showcase continues at various venues around town. This week's festivities include a quartet of bands per night on Sept 17 and 18, improvised accompaniment to the early Japanese silent film A Page of Madness on Sept 19, two projects a night on Sept 20 (including a quartet led by John McNeil and featuring Bad Plus pianist Ethan Iverson) and Sept 21, an Electro-Trumpet Sessions threefer on Sept 22, an Emerging Players showcase on Sept 23 and 24, and a brass-band showcase on Sept 25.
