Like the marquee says, this band unites four potent Miles Davis sidemen, each from a different era of the leader's multifarious career. Rock-solid drummer Jimmy Cobb hails from the classic 1959 Kind of Blue sessions; bassist Buster Williams recorded with the second great quintet of the ’60s; Sonny Fortune was among Davis's sax men during the electric ’70s; and guitarist Mike Stern provided a bluesy spark to the synth-heavy ’80s bands.
